words / patience

I always find myself rushing things, and wanting everything to come quicker in my life,
so that I can move onto the next thing. Why are we always in such a hurry? Why do we try
so hard to get to the next step so fast? When we focus so much on the future, we forget about
the things happening in the present moment. It's important to understand that things do take time,
and that everything you want to do will eventually happen; it's just a matter of time, and patience.

Have a great week everyone!    — Minna

  1. You're so right! I'm currently in "waiting mode" because my new place is in midst of renovation, I can hardly wait to move in and find it really hard to make the best of the time in between. Trying though;) It does help me enjoy the present if I plan things, so that's what I'm trying to do in the meantime.

  2. I find myself struggling daily with this topic. I've gone from working as a designer in house for a company (un-inspiring work) to being freelance (5 years ago) when we started a family.

Everywhere I look people are more established than me with a more solid product offering or much deeper talent and as I am branching out in to design for off the shelf items such as greetings and customisable invites and so on I find it difficult not to fall in to the comparison trap and wish my children off to school immediately so that I can work during the day rather than stolen twilight hours after they are in bed.

I read something the other day that basically said never to decide not to do something because of the time it takes to achieve because that time will pass anyway and I find that a particularly pertinent idea. I have applied it to the fact that I will create the business that I want and build the following that I desire, it will just take time. I guess we have to remember that the travelling is often the best part of reaching and appreciating a destination.

  3. Minna, seriously, thank you for this post. I find myself wanting to speed through life so fast to get to a point where everything will work out, in my career and also to get over the long distance relationship hump.

This is a great reminder to start the week

  4. everything about this is just so true (this really applies to me right now). simple and yet straight to the point, i absolutely love the way you write. x

  5. exactly what I needed to read today. thanks for the wise words.

  6. I really appreciate this post and boy did I need to hear that! Thanks for reminding me that there is time. :)

  7. Hi there! New follower! Love your content, esp this post! See you around :)

  8. This is exactly what I needed today. I just can't sit still and love what is happening right in front of me. We will miss the times when we struggled and creativity came flowing.

  9. This is very true. I'm terrible for acting before I think, and I'm always trying to rush around to do a bunch of things. Patience is key, but so is hard work.
